David Musgrave

David Musgrave is the major shareholder of Functional Whole Foods New Zealand Ltd and runs waihi bush organic farm.

He attended Lincoln University and graduated with an M. Agr. Sci (Hons) in Agronomy in 1970. He also attended Massey University and completed a Dip. Hort. Sci (Hons) in Horticultural Production in 1982.

In 1993 he produced the first locally produced flax seed oil on the New Zealand market under the brand name waihi bush organic farm. This was in response to the rapid results seen when he gave some imported oil to his youngest son Oliver who had had major eczema for two and a half years.

Since then he has actively researched the role of flax seed oil, Omega-3's and other essential nutrients in optimising health and seen major benefits in the health of himself, family and customers. This knowledge has been used to both develop innovative products and to write articles for professional magazines and conferences.
